A jumbo pine nut miracle

Yesterday while making dinner, Eric and I expressed how we wanted to make homemade pesto sauce. Eric, the king chef that he is, noted that we needed fresh basil and pine nuts. We were then saddened to realize that we live in utah, where foods other than mac and cheese and green jello salad don't exist. So we sulked around the kitchen wondering how we could acquire such a rarity.

Today, while driving to banana republic (eric's favorite store) we saw a huge sign that said "JUMBO PINENUTS". We pulled over and asked for a bag. Eric was so excited. I subtly tried to tell him that they were too expensive because they weren't shelled or cooked. In his haste, he decided to purchase those little guys NO MATTER WHAT! They are currently sitting on the kitchen countertop, untouched and unshelled.
Jumbo pinenuts, jumbo RIPOFF!
Eric,
thank you for putting a damper on my novemeber excitement. SO WHAT if you can have all those things in ruddy old october!?!?!?
your loving sister,
NOVEMBER BORN BRITT

NOVEMBER

The crispy crunch of leaves under your feet, the snow capped mts, the chill air, homemade cider, carameled apples, sweaters, turning on the fireplace, scarves and hats, my birthday, thanksgiving, pumpkin pie, stovetop stuffing, sipping steven's hot chocolate... I love NOVEMBER!!!!

As a young and impressionable youth, the author read in honors and AP classes that interested me the most was the brilliant and satirical F. Scott Fitzgerald. I love the ironic plots and prestigious characters and content. I loved imagining the modern day interpretation (which would relate to any recent episode of The Hills). I loved how Fitz was boldly taking a stab at modern day society and the flaws within the upper socio-economic classes. I loved his literature because I secretly wanted to live in the art-deco clad, flapper influenced society and their desire to break out of the norm and rebel from their ancestory.
Food for thought from Fitz: (Bernice Bobs Her Hair)
"At eighteen our convictions are hills from which we look; at forty-five they are caves in which we hide."

Where do you find yourself?. Are you searching for the cave of which you wish to hide? Are you already in that cave? Are you still riding on the wings of your convictions?
What does this have to do with the recent elections?
Just a thought...
After spending a more then pleasant evening with my lovely comrade, Bethany Stewart she invited me to check out her blog. People often update me of people's lives because of info that they found on an other's blog. Why not allow people to keep themselves updated with my life without making them talk to me? Why not define myself through lengthy expressions, ideals and intentions? Why not allow people to fall in love with or learn to loathe me because of my writing style? Why not, spend more time with a machine and less time with a warm, breathing being who could extend to me a warm embrace? Why not? But really, blogging is fun. It resembles the ancient and ever so out of style habit of our ancestors; journal writing. But this time, our inner thoughts and desires are posted in the world wide web. Whether or not I may be the only person to get a kick out of this, ENJOY!
