As a young and impressionable youth, the author read in honors and AP classes that interested me the most was the brilliant and satirical F. Scott Fitzgerald. I love the ironic plots and prestigious characters and content. I loved imagining the modern day interpretation (which would relate to any recent episode of The Hills). I loved how Fitz was boldly taking a stab at modern day society and the flaws within the upper socio-economic classes. I loved his literature because I secretly wanted to live in the art-deco clad, flapper influenced society and their desire to break out of the norm and rebel from their ancestory.
Food for thought from Fitz: (Bernice Bobs Her Hair)
"At eighteen our convictions are hills from which we look; at forty-five they are caves in which we hide."
Where do you find yourself?. Are you searching for the cave of which you wish to hide? Are you already in that cave? Are you still riding on the wings of your convictions?
What does this have to do with the recent elections? Just a thought...
