A jumbo pine nut miracle

Yesterday while making dinner, Eric and I expressed how we wanted to make homemade pesto sauce. Eric, the king chef that he is, noted that we needed fresh basil and pine nuts. We were then saddened to realize that we live in utah, where foods other than mac and cheese and green jello salad don't exist. So we sulked around the kitchen wondering how we could acquire such a rarity.

Today, while driving to banana republic (eric's favorite store) we saw a huge sign that said "JUMBO PINENUTS". We pulled over and asked for a bag. Eric was so excited. I subtly tried to tell him that they were too expensive because they weren't shelled or cooked. In his haste, he decided to purchase those little guys NO MATTER WHAT! They are currently sitting on the kitchen countertop, untouched and unshelled.
Jumbo pinenuts, jumbo RIPOFF!
Eric,
thank you for putting a damper on my novemeber excitement. SO WHAT if you can have all those things in ruddy old october!?!?!?
your loving sister,
NOVEMBER BORN BRITT

NOVEMBER

The crispy crunch of leaves under your feet, the snow capped mts, the chill air, homemade cider, carameled apples, sweaters, turning on the fireplace, scarves and hats, my birthday, thanksgiving, pumpkin pie, stovetop stuffing, sipping steven's hot chocolate... I love NOVEMBER!!!!
