Ode to Pussy Cat Dolls

Grandma and Grandpa, they may look like they belong in a brothel and they may seem like they are inappropriate role models for naïve youth but hear me out about the Pussy Cat Dolls. Pop music may seem like an easy way to slip sex and unrealistic body images into young and unsuspecting minds but I beg to differ. The Pussy Cat Dolls, hand picked by Sean Puffy Coombs, or Puff Daddy, or Puff, or Sean Jean, or whomever he may be, are physically comparable to the pop divas who paved their way such as; Britney, Christina, Paris, and Rhianna but listen to their lyrics. The song called, ‘When I Grow up’ is seemingly selfish and promotes unrealistic ideals but listen closely. While jogging at the gym rocking out to the Pussy Cat Dolls, I came across a very significant line in the song which hit me like a ton of bricks. The line goes as follows, ‘Be careful what you wish for cause you just might get it.’ These lyrics ring so true. If I remember correctly, I have listened to may a Sunday school teacher, CES fireside, BYU Devotional, and general conference address which portrayed something similar to the inspiring lyrics of the Pussy Cat Dolls. Don’t believe me? I don’t blame you. Does the saying; ‘ thoughts become actions, actions become habits and habits character’, mean anything to you? Is that not the saying the exact same thing as; ‘Be careful what you wish for cause you just might get it.’ Thank you PCD for enlightening our influential youth!
